Keynote Nils Fonstad, Professor MIT CISR
, "Test and Learn: Getting value from digital innovation efforts"
MIT CISR research has found that top performing firms are distinguished by their approach to digital innovation, rather than by how much they spend on it. To counter pervasive uncertainties in the business and technology environment and prioritize the most strategic innovation projects from myriad options, companies can take a test-and-learn approach to innovation investments. The challenge is to ensure that innovation initiatives yield organizational learning, not just a huge portfolio of experiments or expensive failures. This session addresses how companies can design themselves to test and learn.

Carel van Sorgen, Founder 247Steel
Carel van Sorgen founded the company 247Steel in 2006, when he couldn't find a metal company that was interested in the software he had developed. With the internet portal Sophia he was able to deliver metal products quickly, accurately and with minimal loss of cut. In twelve years, the company grew from six to five hundred employees. Carel will talk about the impact of digitisation on industrial companies and the corporate culture that this requires.
